Hello, and Welcome!
We're Linda and Chris a couple of 30somethings who met in Architecture school, fell in love while studying abroad in Rome, and got hitched on 10/10/10 in New Hampshire. "Parents" to two rambunctious pups - we're always on the move and keeping busy. We love adventuring and exploring - especially in the White Mountains of NH, and Green Mountains of Vermont.
How it Started
After many trips up north camping and hiking - we figured it was time for our own indoor plumbing. Based in Boston, in our little condo, and both working in the building and construction industry - we were itching for our own getaway and DIY projects. We purchased the well cared for Chalet in Whitefield, NH in 2017 from the original owners who raised their family there. We worked with family and friends to do some cosmetic renovations and opened it up to friends and family and beyond in 2019! We were so fortunate to build an amazing community and experiences (the best part of airbnb and sharing our home) we thought we'd look for a property on the water.
And Here We Are
In August 2022 we closed on the Riverside Cottage in Bridgewater Vermont - a perfect riverside complement to our mountain view in NH. We're the third owners following directly behind a new local friend and neighbor who ran a small engine repair shop from the then-garage, now-game room, and before him was another businessman who was a local trapper.
We got right to work with family painting and performing some basic cosmetic upgrades. The initial thought was to finish the main cottage and leave other projects for later - but soon "scope creep" got the better of us, and before we knew it we were getting an artic blast that froze some pipes in February 2023 - and in spring 2023 we started rebuilding the bonus room and "shitchen" in the garage. When we bought the property there was a studio apartment in the back of the garage with a small bedroom and a galley kitchen/bathroom shower combo - lovingly referred to as the "shitchen". Now it's a functional 3/4 bath and bonus room in the back of the game room (former garage) - dubbed "the lookout" (on account of it overlooks the river) it boasts a nap nook, daybed, and some great rocking chairs.
Things took a bit longer than anticipated, but we wanted to get the space just right before we opened it up to folks outside of friends and family. And here we are now - ready to share both beautiful properties with family, friends, and beyond!
We post often on Instagram and usually open our dates 3-4 months in advance. We've been known to make special accommodations (direct booking, or advanced booking) for repeat guests so feel free to reach out via an Instagram message to inquire.
